WHO WE ARE

A NATIONAL UK LOGISTICS OPERATOR

From small beginnings to a leading logistics business.

Two Decades of Investment, Innovation, and Growth

When John Williams acquired Maritime Transport in 2001, the business was a small container haulier operating 136 trucks across five depots. Through two decades of investment, innovation, and growth, Maritime has evolved into one of the UK’s leading integrated logistics providers. More than 3,600 people now work across our 40+ locations, delivering unrivalled logistics solutions spanning road and rail freight, container storage, terminal services, freight management, and truck sales. Backed by the global strength of MEDLOG, we continue to invest with long-term stability and growth in mind.

Today, we’re shaping the next era of UK logistics through one of the sector’s most ambitious decarbonisation strategies, and progressing our commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

OUR VISION

We are building a national, integrated road–rail network that delivers long-term efficiency, resilience, and environmental progress for businesses. Through continued investment in infrastructure, cleaner technologies, and improving how cargo moves across the UK, we are reducing our carbon impact while helping customers meet their own sustainability targets. Our ambition is to create the cleanest, most sustainable full-load supply chain in the country, one that supports economic growth, reduces environmental impact, strengthens day-to-day logistics performance, and sets a new benchmark for the future of our industry.

Sustainability at Maritime Transport

We recognise the responsibility that comes with operating a national logistics network. Guided by a long-term view and strong core values, we work closely with customers, partners, and industry bodies to address the environmental challenges facing the logistics sector and prepare for the changes that will shape our operations in the years to come.
